JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Hello Lakeville Families and Friends! I am a dedicated educator, proud parent, and principal of Lakeville Elementary. Before coming to Lakeville, I enjoyed two years assistant principal at Oxford Middle School. I am proud to share that I taught in Oxford for ten years, spending three years at Oxford’s Intermediate School and seven years at Oxford High School as a Health/Physical Educator and coach. I am an Oxford Wildcat through and through! My husband is a Tutorial Assistant at Oxford’s Crossroads for Youth Program and a high school Volleyball and Girls’ Basketball Coach. Our children attend Oxford Schools and are proud to be Wildcats!
I possess three college degrees and an endorsement in the field of education. While attending Wayne State University, I was a varsity cheerleader and the secretary of the HPE Major’s Club. As a follow up to the HPE teaching certificates, I received an endorsement from Saginaw Valley State University in K-12 Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
At Lakeville Elementary, we inspire our students to learn, to grow, to care, and to achieve. We believe in recognizing and meeting the needs of our students. Our school offers students wonderful opportunities both in and out of the classroom. A few of our stretch learning activities include, Fifth Grade Camp, Homework Club, Content and Character Focused Assemblies, and Field Trips which enrich our curriculum. Our strong academic programs include Writer’s Workshop, Everyday Math, and a kit-based Science program. Our exploratory classes include art, music, physical education, Spanish, and orchestra (grades 4 & 5).
Our parents are active participants in our learning community through volunteering in classrooms and engaging in our Parent School Council (PSC) programs. PSC sponsors many wonderful activities to help us educate the whole child including, Watermelon Welcome, Haunted House, Movie Nights, Spring Fair, and much more. Please follow the PSC link to get involved!
In the Spring of 2010, we were named an International Baccalaureate Candidate School. In 2009, we were excited to receive a the Michigan Exemplary Schools’ Blue Ribbon. This is an intensive three-tier application process that identifies Michigan’s exemplary schools. Our learning community is extremely proud to be a Blue Ribbon school!
On behalf of the staff at Lakeville Elementary, I would like to invite you to visit our school where you will find a warm atmosphere focused on inspiring our students to learn, to grow, to care, and to achieve.
Be inspired today!
