Oxford Junior Robotics

FIRST Lego League Junior (FLL Jr.) and FIRST Lego League (FLL)

Oxford Junior Robotics provides an exciting opportunity for all of our Elementary students to become involved and explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, through the use of Lego elements and programmable robots.

FLL Jr. (DK through 3rd grade) –  Students e xplore a real-world scientific problem such as water quality, recycling, energy, etc, then design a Lego model of their solution, which must include a programmable robot.  They then present their model and a poster, which chronicles their research, at a local FIRST Expo.

FLL (4th and 5th grade) – Students research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®, to complete challenges on a table-top playing field.  Teams compete at a local FIRST qualifying event and may progress on.

The Junior Robotics season runs from August through December, with teams forming in June.  All requests to join a team must be received by June 1, for the following season.  For more information or to join a team, please visit http://forc.life/ or contact Katie.Fallon.Robotics@gmail.com.
