Dear Lakeville Families,
I hope you are all enjoying these exciting final days of the school year!
I am reaching out today with some news that I am disappointed to share. Shortly before our scheduled yearbook distribution this week, we uncovered some significant printing errors in the shipment. Because we want your children to have a keepsake that they can cherish forever, we immediately reached out to the printing company to arrange a full reprint.
Unfortunately, this means the yearbooks will not be ready for distribution before the school year wraps up this week. The printing company has given us an estimated production timeline of about two weeks.
We know how much the students look forward to the tradition of collecting autographs and messages from their friends and teachers during the last week of school. We are so sorry for this unexpected delay, and we want to make sure they don't miss out on that fun! Our team is working diligently right now to create and distribute special autograph pages for the students. Every student will receive a signing page this week so they can still collect signatures, swap sweet messages with their peers, and later place the insert directly into their new yearbook once it arrives.
Because Lakeville will be open for summer school in July, we will use that time as our primary hub for yearbook pickup. As soon as the corrected yearbooks arrive and are processed, we will send out a follow-up communication with specific days, times, and instructions for how you can collect your copy.
We are truly so sorry for this glitch and any disappointment it causes. We deeply appreciate your patience, warmth, and understanding as we work to get this right for our students.
Sincerely,
Kristin Guinn
Principal, Lakeville Elementary School

Dear OCS Elementary Families,
We are aware that some parents and guardians are experiencing difficulties when attempting to access elementary report cards through the link emailed earlier today. In some instances, only the first page of the report card is loading; in others, the document is not opening at all.
PowerSchool employs a process called Document Management to prepare report cards for viewing and storing the file after the email notification is sent. Due to the high volume of report cards released simultaneously, it seems that the system is processing more slowly than usual. As a result, trying to access the report card immediately may lead to errors.
If you encounter this issue, please wait a little while and try the link in your email again later today or tomorrow. We understand this is inconvenient and appreciate your patience as the system completes its processing.
If you are still unable to access your child’s report card by tomorrow, please contact your building’s secretary for assistance.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Dear Oxford Community Schools Families,
We understand that some families may have concerns about food insecurity. For additional support if needed, we have compiled a list of local food assistance resources. You can access the full list on our website here: Food Assistance Resources.
We also want to remind families that every student is encouraged to eat a free breakfast and lunch at school each day to ensure they have access to nutritious meals.
If your family is in need and unable to access food, please reach out to a Family School Liaison (FSL) or any school staff member. We are here to help connect you with the right resources.
Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools
We’re still not sure about this whole 6-7 craze but some of our teachers had fun with it today! Oxford Elementary even had a group take it next level with their own creative twist—“Sick 7”! Such a fun day! 🎃

Dear Oxford Families,
I want to take a moment to share something important with you. We’ve put together a very short video (just 2½ minutes) that explains what will be on the ballot this November. I implore you to watch it. It has even helped me, as the district superintendent, to better understand the proposals, and I hope it will help you feel informed as well.
Absentee voting has already started, and Election Day is just around the corner on November 4. If you find the video helpful, please consider forwarding it to friends and family who live in Oxford, or sharing it on social media if you’re comfortable doing so.
For additional information including Frequently Asked Questions, please visit https://oxfordschools.org/millage. Thank you for taking a few minutes to be informed; it truly makes a difference!

The State of Michigan has adopted a new state budget that includes continued funding for free breakfast and lunch for all students this school year.
We still encourage all families to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application each year. The information provided through these applications helps determine eligibility for various supports and funding that benefit both families and schools.
Benefits of Completing the Application include:
Free or Reduced-Price Meals: Direct financial assistance to families if the universal free meal program is not renewed in the future.
Discounts on Educational Activities: Possible cost reductions for AP exams, field trips, and after-school programs.
Other Student and Household Support: Access to programs that provide food assistance, school supplies, and holiday support.
Increased Funding for Schools: Additional funding through programs such as Title I, which supports all students.
Eligibility for Other Programs: The application can help determine eligibility for other state and federally funded programs.
Families can complete the application online or request a paper copy from their school office.
