JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
August 2021

I have been teaching since 2007, previously teaching for the Warren Consolidated Schools district as a physical education teacher and later as an adapted physical education teacher for a center-based MoCI program. I also coached middle school volleyball and track & field during my time working for WCS. Early in my career, I was awarded the Susan J. Kolp Innovator Award from the MAHPERD organization and spent some time serving on the state board. More recently, I was awarded a grant to start a yoga program within the MoCI physical education classes I taught a Cousino High School.

My goal for every student who enters my gymnasium is to become a physically literate person; meaning he/she will have the ability, confidence, and desire to be physically active for life. The healthy development of the whole person will occur by exposure to a wide variety of physical activities and personal fitness in multiple environments.

I graduated from Oxford High School in 2002 - once a wildcat, always a wildcat! - and now reside here with my husband and daughter, Scout. We can be found spending time with family, traveling to the upper peninsula, and enjoying Michigan State Spartan sports - GO GREEN! When I'm not at school, I enjoy running, reading, and spending time on the lake; paddle boarding during the summer!
